Once you have properly prepared the concrete surface and
adjacent walls and doors, it is time to start applying the Deco-Etch.
For small areas use a sponge or paintbrush.
Do Not Pour Stain On Floor!!!
For larger areas we recommend the use of a pump up sprayer
or a Lambswool Applicator. Deco-Etch Stain is corrosive therefore an
acid
resistant sprayer would be recommended if sprayer is to be used
multiple times. (Note: If the room is finished except for the floors,
the lambswool applicator will minimize the chance of staining walls
and baseboards.)
Apply a single uniform coat of Deco-Etch Stain that completely
covers the concrete. Do not over apply. Coverage rate should be approximately
200 sq. ft. per gallon. Coverage rate will vary with porosity of floor.
Let the first coat dry completely. Drying time will also vary with the
porosity of floor. Usual dry time is about 8 hours. Apply second coat
in the same manner.
In lower picture, the use of a paint shield kept the Deco-Etch off
of the walls.
