APPLICATION
1. Do I have to use two coats of Deco-Etch
Acid Stain?
To achieve the best results, use a minimum
of two coats. Sometimes additional coats will add color to the floor.
Always do a sample in an inconspicuous area to ensure desired results
are achieved.
2. How long should I wait between applying coats of Deco-Etch
Acid Stain?
Wait a minimum of 6 hours between applying coats.
3. Can I mix two colors together?
No, do not mix Deco-Etch colors. These
are strong acids and should be handled carefully. You can, however,
spray one color over another color to achieve different colors.
4. How do I apply Deco-Etch Acid Stain?
Deco-Etch Acid Stain can be applied using a plastic pump-up
sprayer, roller, or lambs wool applicator. Each of these approaches
has advantages and the choice of applicator is a matter of personal
preference.
5. Do I have to neutralize the Deco-Etch Acid Stain after I’m
through staining?
Yes, the floor is extremely acidic after staining. You need
to neutralize the floor with Spectrum Hard Surface Cleaner or 2010 All Surface Cleaner. If Spectrum
Hard Surface Cleaner or 2010 All Surfaces Cleaner is not available, you can use a combination of
baking soda and water. However, baking soda and water is not as easy
or effective as Spectrum Hard Surface Cleaner and 2010 All Purpose Cleaner.
6. How do I determine if the floor has been properly neutralized?
Wiping with a clean rag will show no residue on a properly
neutralized floor. Cleaning with Spectrum Hard Surface Cleaner or 2010 All Surface Cleaner easily
achieves this level of neutralization.
